About Singareni Colony
Singareni Colony is one of the most notorious slums in Hyderabad.
Located near the Saroornagar Lake.
56 acres of land is owned by Rowdri Society Industries Society and Singareni Collieries.
People from Devarakonda, Nalgonda, Siddipet, Nagar Kurnool, and Mahbubnagar Migrated to the Singareni colony for livelihood.
Major Occupations are Daily Wage Labourers, Auto Drivers, Catering Domestic work at Function Halls, Garbage Collectors, Scarp Collectors, etc.
Population is 30,000 most of them belonging to SC, ST, BC, and Minority communities, about 3000 are below 16 years of age
Children usually go to 9 primary schools, 9 Anganwadi’s, and 3 high schools
